ThoroSpec founder and principal, Hollis Brown, VCHI, is a 35-year veteran of the metropolitan area home building & home inspection industry with experience in construction management and design/build remodeling. He attended Indiana State University and studied architecture and construction management. Hollis holds the
VCHI designation of the VA Board for Lead, Asbestos & Home Inspection
as well as a
License to perform home inspections in the State of
Maryland. As the head instructor at the prestigious Home Inspector Training Academy,
Hollis has trained hundreds of home inspectors throughout the U.S.
He is a long-time member of the
Virginia Association of Real Estate Inspectors (VAREI)
and the
American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI), and proudly upholds the ASHI Standard of Practice and Code of Ethics.

A life-long resident of the metropolitan area, Tony Toth, is a 19-year veteran of the Northern VA real estate/home building industry. He came to the industry as a technical graduate in Aviation Technology from Wilson Technological School in Deer Park, Long Island. He has been trained and licensed as a Residential Real Estate Appraiser and a Class A Building Contractor. Tony has completed hundreds of residential appraisals for conventional and government backed loans and built approximately 150 new homes. Tony's background gives him a strong technical understanding of the systems and components of your home, and he understands the valuation and loan processes a homeowner is involved in when purchasing a new home.

With over thirty years in the construction industry,
Dale Olson, has both experience with new construction and an intimate understanding of older homes. He has experience as a licensed master electrician and holds a bachelors degree in electrical engineering. Dale is an experienced general contractor, focusing primarily on the renovation of vintage properties, and he happily share his expertise with the community as a member of the board of directors and the construction committee of Habitat for Humanity of Carroll County.
